Alva Lee Webb Twigs, age 85, of Newland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27th, 2023 at The Greens of Spruce Pine. A native of Valley (Avery) County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Viola Osborne Webb. She was also preceded death by her husband, Brown Twiggs; six infant siblings; three brothers: Charlie, Roy and Billy Webb; daughter-in-law, Sonna Twiggs, and a grandson, Johnathon Twiggs.
Alva was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and gospel music. She was the kindest, most gentle and generous of souls that you could meet.
Surviving are her daughters: Ronnita McKinney and husband, Dewayne, of Spruce Pine, Donna Wilson and husband, Steve, of Rising Sun, MD, and Genene Turbyfill of Newland; son, Tommy Twiggs of Licklog; grandchildren: Dale McKinney, James Hughes and wife, Stephanie, and James Turbyfill and wife, Kelly; five great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Hughes of Roaring Creek; brother, Barney Webb and wife, Ann, of Cranberry, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Hughes of Roaring Creek. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
