George Dewey Ledford, age 88, of Bakersville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Fronzer and Edith Honeycutt Ledford. He was also preceded in death by son, Michael Allen Ledford, Sr.; infant sister, Leona and brothers: R.Z., Joe and Charlie Ledford.
He enjoyed fishing, farming, playing music, where he played with many bands over the years, and riding four wheelers.
Surviving is his daughters: Betty Hughes and husband, Jimmy, of Pennsylvania and Christine and husband, Bart, of Arden and daughter-in-Law, Jean Ledford of Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held in late summer.
