We realize that the transportation needs of our County will continue to change and we want to grow and change with it.”

The new location of the building will be located between the Medical Center and the Yancey County Health Department on Medical Campus Drive.

“This has been a long time coming and we are so excited to have a new facility for our transit staff and riders alike” said County Manager, Lynn Austin. This project is a great collaboration between Yancey County Commissioners and NCDOT. NCDOT is funding the project at 90% the remaining 10% is a local match.

“The Yancey County Commissioners and I are glad to see this project underway and would like to thank NCDOT for making this project possible. As always, we look forward to serving our community with this new facility for many years to come” said Chairman, Jeff Whitson.
