Larry Joe Brewer – Webb Funeral Home
Larry Joe Brewer, age 74, of White Oak Creek in Burnsville went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2023, at his home, surrounded by love, after and long, strong battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was the son of the late Howard Brewer and the late Effie Sparks Brewer. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Patricia Brewer Glenn and Flo Brewer Lipps; and brothers; Roger and Richard Brewer.
Larry was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving husband, a caring father and dedicated Tarheel basketball fan. Larry loved doing house projects, taking sunset walks on Myrtle Beach, spending his days with his best friend, Elaine and being around his grandkids.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of twenty nine years; Elaine Troxell Brewer; his sons; Adam Brewer and wife Nicki of Bakersville, Brian Brewer and wife Katelyn of Spruce Pine, his daughter, Allison Duncan and husband Danny of Spruce Pine; his brother, Phillip Brewer and wife, Jo Ellen of Hudson; his sister-in-law, Trula Brewer and her daughter April Truett (husband Jeff) of Newdale; six grandchildren; Andrew and Isaac Brewer, Keely Rash (husband Harley), Caitlin Duncan, Coraline and Winona Brewer.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine, with Pastor Andy Willis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Newdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery following the service.
The pallbearers will be Adam, Brian, Andrew and Isaac Brewer, Danny Duncan and Kyle Deyton.
Larry’s family would like to extend a deep thank you to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for their care and compassion, and all those who have cared for the family in the previous weeks.
