I’m glad someone else has noticed and brought up the issue of county spending on county vehicles other than me. There’s to many county vehicles in Yancey County being used for personal use and nothing being done about it. It appears that one perk of being employed by Yancey County is not having to spend your own money on gas, tires, and insurance and instead have the taxpayers pay for it. Our county management should enforce employees to only operate county vehicles during the operating hours of the county which is 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM ONLY and after those hours the county vehicles should be parked at the department’s office in which the employee is employed in and be done with it. Yancey County’s taxpayers’ money is being wasted!
