Lloyd “John” Edwards, age 61, of Burnsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Canton, Ohio and resident of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Patricia Roudadebush Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Laws Edwards and a bonus son, Christopher Robinson.
John was an only son with three sisters and was spoiled by each of them, as well as being his mother’s pet. He loved working with his hands, mechanicing and doing construction work as a home builder. His greatest accomplishments in life were his two sons and granddaughter whom he dearly loved. John was a kind, caring man and anyone who knew him, loved him.
Surviving are his two sons: John Edwards and wife, Lori, and Ryan Edwards; granddaughter, Bravleigh Edwards; three sisters: Linda Lewis and husband, Junior, Liz Edwards, and Patty Jo Grindstaff and husband, Donnie; three nieces: Heather, Riley, and Sierra and husband, Dalton; four nephews: Jason, Justin, John Paul and wife, Jessica, and Christopher and companion, Nikki; as well as his good friend, Terri.
