Benny Honeycutt

Benny Honeycutt, age 77, of the Bee Log Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 at his home.

A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Lester and Carrie Adkins Honeycutt.

He was also preceded in death by two daughters:  Tami Honeycutt and Staci Ayala; siblings:  Harlan Honeycutt, Madeline Martz, Jack Honeycutt, Rome Honeycutt, Leonard Honeycutt and Terry Lynn Honeycutt.

When Benny was younger, he loved hunting and fishing.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran who received three medals during the Vietnam War Era.  He also enjoyed working on cars and riding horses.  He mostly loved spending time with his family and church family at Calvary Worship Center in Marshall, where he was a long-time member.

Surviving are his loving wife, Judie Edwards Honeycutt; brother, Brown Honeycutt and wife, Frances, of Pennsylvania and sister, Ruth Honeycutt Wilson and husband, Jim, of Mountain City, TN.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, January 12th at Yancey Funeral Services.  Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel.  Pastor Rusty Smart, Rev. Ron Dodson and Chris Kent will officiate.  Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Edwards Cemetery in Bee Log.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Sgt. E. L. Randolph, Chapter # 57 D.A.V.
