The current Miss North Carolina, Taylor Loyd, served as the 2022 Rhododendron Queen. She is competing this week for the title of Miss America. The Town of Bakersville and the Mitchell County Tourism Board recently partnered together to send a care package to Ms. Loyd to show their support. The Miss America Pageant airs this Sunday at 7 pm. The pageant is being held in Orlando and is being streamed live at WatchMissAmerica.com.
