We can agree to disagree about a lot. For example when I fly a rainbow flag I am not flaunting anything, particularly since I am heterosexual. But it really doesn’t matter if you find it objectionable or not and why. We have free speech in this country, even when we can’t agree on what that means. One thing most free speech advocates on any side agree on is that we have the right to fly a flag on our homes, cars and property. And we have the right to protest same on public property. It’s why I object the Stars and Bars flown at a courthouse but not when some good ol boy runs around with one on his pickup truck or hangs one on his fence. Other people’s feelings aside, I find the good ol boy’s display very helpful. It tells me a lot about him and why I have no desire to have anything to do with him.
