The fear-mongering needs to stop. Children under 18 receive no kind of sex reassignment surgeries unless they are absolutely medically necessary. Even hormonal therapies must be carefully considered medically and psychologically by a TEAM of doctors as well as parents and the child. When adults get sexual reassignment surgery it is a years-long process involving doctors, counselors and psychiatrists. It is never taken lightly because it is permanent. But how many young people, minors, get nose jobs or breast implants or lip filler every day in this country. Why aren’t you all up in arms about that? It’s ok if a young girl enlarges her breasts but not okay to treat gender dysphoria? Do you realize that children and young adults suicide every day because they are not accepted for who they are? And as for legalizing pedophilia…that’s patently absurd. No one except pedophiles is advocating for that. You should be far more concerned about the sexual assaults that take place every day in churches and just how many clergy commit these heinous acts against children. Why is there not more outcry from you conservatives about that? Instead, these assaults get swept under the rug while you demonize kids just struggling to be their true selves. DO BETTER. BE A BETTER HUMAN!
