I am a southerner. For me and many, many southerners I know who have studied our history and whose ancestors lived it, that flag represents armed rebellion against the country we love and were told we were no longer a part of. It is a gross misrepresentation to pretend that all southerners think the way you say they do. Jefferson Davis’ ancestors have been leading the push to have that flag removed from the lawn of his home in Mississippi. All over the south southerners have led such movements. It’s either ignorant or narrow minded to think you know what you are talking about and instruct the rest of us about what southerners all think. Indeed, a whole lot of people talk about a whole lot of things they don’t understand.
