If you are in need of shelter or a warm place to stay during this bad weather and cold snap, the Beacon Center at Spruce Pine United Methodist Church is open as a warming station from 6 p.m. in the evenings to 8 a.m. the next morning. There is no charge and all are welcome. If you need assistance due to the weather, please call 911 and Communications will make arrangements for you.

Blue Ridge Elementary is open (beginning at 4pm Tuesday) as a warming shelter.
