Mearl Harold Miller, age 73, of Old U.S. 19-E in Spruce Pine, the Estatoe community, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Born on July 16, 1950 in Unicoi County, TN, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Hazel Barnett Miller.
Mearl was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He worked over forty years for Henredon Furniture and later worked at Wal-Mart in Spruce Pine.
He was an avid fan of Nascar Racing and he enjoyed attending gospel music events. He loved spending time with his family and particularly with his great grandson, Lucas.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of fifty-two years; Linda Hughes Miller; his daughter; Angie Sparks and husband, Sonny of Spruce Pine; his granddaughters; Hayley Byrd and husband, William of Green Mountain and Santana Sparks of Spruce Pine; his special great grandson; Lucas Byrd of Green Mountain; his brother; Dwight Miller of Erwin, TN and his sister; Beverly Miller of Burnsville.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Frady officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
