Dustin Sage Crain, age 26, of the Cane River Community, passed away on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of Clifford Crain and the late Suzzane Merwood Crain. He was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Dustin enjoyed hiking, ginseng hunting, fishing, hunting and playing video games. He loved his family and always had a smile on his face.
Surviving in addition to his father, Clifford and his wife, Susan, is his brother, Clifford Gage Crain of Burnsville; two nephews: Clifford and Seth; special aunt, Michelle Spangler of Burnsville and several step-sisters and step-brothers. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, January 22nd in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Don Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Roy Crain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
