Hand-built Pottery Class
Is cabin fever setting in after the hustle and bustle of the holidays? How would you like to learn to build a beautiful log cabin out of clay? This structure can be a night light, a bird house, votive burner or just a wonderful decorative piece. It may look difficult but with Cheryl’s instruction it can be completed by about anyone, but this class is catered towards adults. Cheryl has been making buildings out of clay for 6 years and has refined the skills needed. A little clay experience would be helpful, but it is not necessary.
Cheryl Munyan will be teaching this ceramics class at High Country Ceramic Arts on Feb. 17 and 24Th from 9:00 – 12:00. After the cabin is built and painted with underglaze, it will be sent through two rounds of the kilns after the class is over. When the completed, the structure will be available for pick-up.
The class is limited to 10 people and will cost $180.00. Reservations are required and there is a minimum of 4 students.
Kids Pottery Class
If your children are disappointed that they can’t attend this class, Anna Early will be teaching a Kids class on Feb 3rd from 10:00 -12:00 for ages 5 and up. They will be making colorful Valentines Wall Vases that can be given as gifts or for holding Valentines cards. Anna has been teaching kids art for 20 years and holds a Montessori Teaching certificate. The class is limited to 10 kids and reservations are required. This class is supported by Toe River Art Council which lowers the cost to $55.00 per child. Reservations can be done through Toe River Arts Council.
Couples Pottery Painting Party
Making something beautiful with clay takes time. So, if you don’t have time and are looking for something faster, come to the Painting Party. The items are already made, you just need to paint them. You select an item, paint it, and pay per piece. It will be clear glazed after the class. Once fired, it came be picked up. This can be a couple’s project with each adding their own personal touch or each person can paint their own. It is up to you. Prices range from $20 -$80.
Come enjoy some time together with your partner or just some friends and bring you favorite beverage. The studio will be open for Potter Painting on February 9 from 6-8 pm. Reservations are recommended.
