Linda Jane Murphy, age 76, of the White Oak Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Cowlitz, Washington, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Patrick Brewer and Mary Jane Backmann Brewer. She was preceded in death as well by her husband, Tommy “Curly” Murphy who passed away in 2004, as well as a brother, Raymond Patrick Brewer, Jr.
Linda was a simple lady who loved being home canning and taking care of everyone, especially caring for stray animals.
She is survived by her son, Tony Murphy (Juanita) of Martin’s Branch; two daughters: Shana Eggers (Shane) of Elizabethton, TN and Tammy Jackson (Gene) of Marion; seven grandchildren: James Shell (Natalie), Johnny McKinney, Tommy McKinney (Kristen), Cody McKinney (Makayla), Bethany Hughes, Machala Dalton (Alex) and Zachary Jackson; three great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Arie and Everett; sister, Lynnette Frank of Washington; and best friend, Barbara Duncan of Burnsville. She is survived as well by several close family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Chad Wise and Rev. Keith Miller will officiate.
