Randle Lee McKinney, age 81, of Spruce Pine the Altapass community passed away Thursday January 25, 2024 at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born in Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Lee and Maxine Lowery McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ted McKinney and a sister, Juanita McKinney Ornouski.
Randle was known as ‘Mr. Haney’ by his close friends and those that knew him. He loved selling, trading and bartering classic cars and guns among many other things.
He was compassionate to family and friends as evidenced by his care of their cars, helping people in need and doing things that often went unnoticed.
Throughout his life, Randle did many different jobs among them, he was a heavy equipment operator.
Left to cherish his memories is his son, Travis Dale McKinney of Spruce Pine, brother, Donald McKinney and wife, Wanda of Marion and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. McKinney will be at 2:00 pm Monday, January 29, 2024, in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and graveside service and interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.
