Some people engage in logical fallacies they defend by “requiring” substantiation. Logic and truth just doesn’t work that way. When multiple fallacies such as straw men, bandwagons, citation of false or unrelated authority, creation of false dilemmas, hasty generalizations, lazy induction, fallacious claims of correlation being causation, and assumption that a compromise between two extreme conflicting points is true are used or used in combination in a post it’s not possible, is unnecessary and is a waste of time to “substantiate” arguments that repudiate the fallacies. It is invalid to claim that something is true until someone else can prove that it is not true. Similarly, it is also invalid to claim that something is true because it’s impossible to prove that the claim is false.
