One, no such thing as common knowledge. Two, anyone conservative, liberal or friends of Adam’s house cat can agree that “The Bush, Cheney, Lindsay Graham type people” never met a war they didn’t like or a situation they didn’t think they could fix with a war that many people made money waging. Doubtless some people were willing to overlook the bad behavior of the previous administration in their desperation to avoid involvement in war on foreign soil. “Tried” isn’t doing, though, when the efforts are so badly executed. Progress on “peace deals” that enable bad actors and make money for the people making the deals is adding new acreage to the swamp, not draining it. Many of us long-time Independents are not “Party blind,” we’ve been unsatisfied with “both sides” and not playing that game for a long time. We’re also not blind to the corruption and violence in the last administration, nor willing to succumb to it based on a new set of hollow promises.
