The Altapass Recycling Center is back in the business of recycling cardboard, as installation of a replacement baler for the one damaged by fire last fall has been completed.
Sanitation Director Mike Jones says things are back to normal. “Everything is back to normal. We’re baling. We’re ready. Bring your cardboard. It’s a much better baler than what we had before” says Jones.
The final stages of repairing the recycling building are now being completed but regular operations have resumed. Altapass Recycling is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Beginning March first, Mitchell County recycling centers will resume their summer hours of operation from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the same days.
