Indeed, anecdotes are a brief story, usually told because they are relevant to the subject at hand. People lacking the powers of critical thought or those misinforming and disinforming often call their rants and diatribes “relevant anecdotes.” It’s not at all funny, but it is hard to tell if it is not very smart or bad intentioned.
