Jerry Sherman Waycaster, age 77, of Elk Park, passed away on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 at his home. A native of Buck Mountain, NC, he was a son of the late Robert and Martha Smith Waycaster. He was also preceded in death his wife, Theresa “Terri” Ann Mill Waycaster, and several brothers.
Jerry was a crafty man who made furniture and jewelry. He worked many years as a correctional officer at the old prison on Three Mile. He enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing and collecting watches.
Survivors include his son, Chad Waycaster and wife, Marcie, of Elk Park; daughter, Cody Hughes of Roan Mountain, TN; two grandchildren: Drew and Judah; special niece, Lucy of Winston Salem, NC; and several other family members.
