Population, Immigration and Voting

When the report in question says LEGAL immigration, it means those who were granted lawful permanent resident status and those issued immigrant visas by Department of State entering the United States as new arrivals. Those are the two groups that comprised the rising population in the report since deaths are exceeding births in the current citizenry. The original post said the growth could be attributed to unrestricted immigration, which is not accurate. The people crossing the border outside of those categories are not counted in the population report in question or the census. None of the immigration categories we are talking about impact counted votes except insomuch as how some citizens who are registered voters see immigration issues as an influence on their candidate choices.
