The spill from the truck accident at Buladean has been contained. Rotator and pumper trucks are on the scene. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital by Mitchell Medics.
There were no immediate exposures. Citizens near the accident have been notified of the accident and spill.
There has been a chemical truck accident on NC 226 in the Buladean community around 11 a.m. this morning (Wednesday).
Reports from the scene note that there is some seepage from the tank of the truck. The county’s hazardous materials trailer and hazmat resources are now on the scene. Authorities are asking everyone to avoid traveling on NC 226 to or from the Buladean area while work on cleaning up the wreck and containing any dangerous materials continues.
