If it seems to someone that one person’s disinformation or misinformation is another person’s truth, and that poses a problem that can’t be solved, there is an obvious problem that may not be solvable in the mind or with the mind of the person who thinks that. “Truth” may be in the mind of the beholder. It may or may not have anything to do with facts. That’s a kind of an existential question or position. However, as a practical matter, misinformation and disinformation is about a shared fact-based reality we inhabit. Those things have a basis in fact and intention. Anyone who wants to live as though nothing matters, well, that’s their business. Just don’t expect the rest of us to join you in that completely nihilistic place.
