Edna Barnett Huskins, age 65, of Crabtree Road in Spruce Pine passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born in Mitchell County on April 13, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Brisco Barnett and Frankie Horton Barnett Bennett who still survives. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Steven Barnett and a brother-in-law, David Reed.
Edna was the co-owner of Huskins Trucking Company. She loved being outdoors, animals and feeding the animals daily and working in her garden. She loved all of her family and particularly her grandson. She was kind to everyone and enjoyed making delicious Christmas candy and delivering it to family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jerry Huskins of Spruce Pine; her sons; Luke Stamey and wife, Adrian of Spruce Pine and Lucus Stamey of Spruce Pine; her grandson; Greyson Stamey of Spruce Pine; her mother, Frankie H. Bennett; her sisters; Robin Robinson and husband, Jim, Diane Hurd and husband, John, Mary Riddle, Jennifer Nifong and husband, Tim and Karen Reed; her brothers; Randy Barnett and wife, Cindy, Russell Barnett and wife, Cassie, Stanley Barnett and Merrill Barnett and wife, Kelly; several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Edna for family and friends will be Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. John Hurd officiating.
