Yancey County, North Carolina – April 20, 2024 – Last night, a devastating incident occurred in Newdale, resulting in the loss of life of a female victim at a residence on Mine Branch Road in Yancey County. The Newdale Fire Department, along with neighboring fire departments, swiftly responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.
In coordination with the Newdale Fire Department, the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI), and the North Carolina State Fire Marshal’s Office have initiated an investigation to determine the cause and origin of the tragic fire.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking event, and we extend our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
