Rev. Paul Robinson

Rev. Paul Robinson, age 94, of the Seven Mile Ridge Community, went Home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  His loving wife of 63 years, Louise Wyatt Robinson, precedes him.

A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Earl and Liddie Buchanan Robinson.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters:  Madge Harding, Maude Whitson and Loraine Johnson, and four brothers:  Charles, Guy, Worley and J.C. Robinson.

Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and mentor to many friends.  He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Sergeant, completing two tours in Berlin, Germany.  He was a former pastor, prayer warrior and faithful servant to the Lord.  Throughout his ministry, Paul devotedly served as the pastor of seven churches.  Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and gardening.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Randy Robinson (Sandra) of Lafayette, GA, and two daughters: Diane Edwards (Alden) and Anita Peterson (Bryan), all of Burnsville; grandchildren:  Benjamin and Emily Robinson, Matthew Edwards and Jessica Peterson; great-grandchildren:  Bella, Ella, Parker, Wilder and Jake; a brother, Homer Robinson (Jean) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and sister-in-law, Alice Powers of Micaville; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  Rev. Billy Mitchell will officiate.  Burial will follow at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
