Leo “Lindy” Riddle

Leo “Lindy” Riddle age 95 of Spruce Pine passed peacefully on the morning of April 18, 2024, He was surrounded by the loving and caring staff of The Yancey House. Lindy was the son of the late Palmer and Ruth Riddle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Fred, Joe and Charles Riddle, sisters, Zula, Zora, Zell, and Jeanne along with several nieces and nephews.

Lindy was employed by Brad Ragan as his personal CPA. After retirement Lindy enjoyed listening to his classical music with his favorite companion, his cat Jasper. Lindy was an avid gardener and reader. He especially enjoyed his New York Post. He loved all things Chocolate, specifically plain Hershey Bars. On Wednesday mornings at 7 am sharp Lindy could be found at Ingles where he and his buddies Dean, Steve, Larry and Sam would solve the world’s issues. Lindy was the Valedictorian and last surviving member of the 1947 graduating class of Harris High School.

Left to cherish his memory is his great nephew Ken Riddle of Spruce Pine. Virginia Hunt (Charlie) of Spruce Pine, David Riddle of Asheville, Mark Parker (Janet) of Raleigh, Al Parker of Raleigh, Charlie Riddle (Brenda) of Mount Croghan, SC, Gary Curtis (Susan) of Spruce Pine and several great-great nieces and nephews.

A time to celebrate the life of Lindy will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday April 24. 2024, in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home the family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to the service.

The family would like to Thank the staff of The Yancey House and Medi Home Hospice for the wonderful care of Lindy including, Joann Shepherd, Megan Mcintosh, Aurora Davis, Mary Wike, Tasha Rathburn, Rene Robinson, Kayla Elkins, and Lydia Ledford.
