Vicki Peterman Tedder, age 74, of the Bad Creek Community, was lovingly gathered into the arms of Jesus and carried Home on December 31, 2022.
A native of Mitchell County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Myrtle A. Peterman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Pete “Skeeter” Peterman.
Vicki’s career brought her to Columbia and, in 1992, she met and married her husband, Jack. Theirs was a blended family of four daughters, which grew to include sons-in-law and nine grandchildren. Vicki served many years at Lexington Medical Center as a DOULA where she served and met the needs of more than 900 moms-to-be. Vicki loved everything outdoors, the mountains being her favorite. In 2017, she and Jack kissed the family goodbye and moved to the North Carolina mountains. Unfortunately, melanoma, which Vicki began to battle in 2014, followed. Vicki spent her last year enjoying the view from her porch, her flowers, her garden, her dog, River, and sometimes her husband.
Left to cherish the memory of this beloved Christian woman are two brothers: Johnny and Curtis Peterman (Jean) of Megs, GA; daughters: Stephanie Ferdette (Craig), Kathleen Rutherford (Shane), Amanda King, and Lindsay Bradberry (David); grandchildren: Taylor Kim (Bryan), Brooke Ferdette, Noah, Lily and Simon King, Ruby and Wyatt Rutherford, Lucy and Happy Harper Bradberry; nephew, Chad Peterman; and nieces: Susan McCorvey and Amanda Perkins.
