Stanley Ayers, age 52, of the Green Mountain Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024. A native of Green Mountain, Stanley is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Ayers and a nephew, Andrew Grindstaff.
Stanley was a loving husband, father, son, and papaw. More than anything he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed any outdoor activities and living life to the fullest. Stanley was a logger for most of his life and he was one of the hardest workers around. He will be greatly missed by his entire family.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Amy Ayers; mother, Sidney Edwards Ayers; sons: Jake Ayers (Kandece), Derick Ayers (Shaylee), Chris Jones (Allison) and Anthony Jones; grandchildren: Kullyn Ayers, Oakley Ayers, Camryn Jones, Colton Greene, Kinsley Ayers, Jackson Ayers, Savaya Jones, Zoey Jones, Mylah Jones and Braylin Ayers; a brother, Dennis Ayers (Jannell); sister, Louellen Grindstaff (Johnny); and his special dog, Ike. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and far too many friends to mention also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Roger Laws will officiate. Burial will follow in the Will Hughes cemetery in Green Mountain. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Gideon Bible donations that may be made by reaching out to Yancey Funeral Services. The family would also like to extend a very sincere thank you to all who have called, came by, and who have prayed for them.
