Garry Dean Edwards, born on February 22, 1966, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, NC. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Lester and Ruby Styles Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Edwards, and David Edwards; and his uncle, Willard Styles.
Left to cherish his memory is his grandchildren, who were the loves of his life: Jada (Zach) Simmons, and Cassie Craine; wife, Dianne Edwards; stepson, Jody; stepdaughter, Jennifer; his brothers: Walter Edwards, Johnny (Nancy) Edwards, Everette Edwards, Jay Edwards, and Jerry Edwards; sister, Naomi (Mike) Edwards Wilson; as well as special nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service for visitation. Reverend Cliff Franks will be officiating, and Reverend Rotha Wilson will close the service in prayer. Interment will follow the service in the Edwards-Styles cemetery off Possum Trot Road in Burnsville, NC.
The family would like to give special thanks to Phoebe Robinson, Phillip Thomas, and George; as well as Stanley Robinson, who was like a brother to Garry and the rest of the family. Flowers or Gideon Bibles made in Garry’s honor are appreciated.
