Vernon Ernest Pike

Vernon Ernest Pike, age 87 of Little Switzerland passed away Wednesday May 1, 2024, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. Born in Isle La Motte, Vermont, he was a son of the late Seneca H. Pike and Beatrice Jarvis O’Neida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Gregory Mark Pike and three brothers, Merritt, Robert and Russell Pike.

Vernon was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as a General Contractor for many years. He received the Small Businessman of the Year award and as part of the award he got to visit the White House. He loved nature, bald eagles, and other birds.

Left to cherish his memories is his granddaughter, Lindsey Pike of Parrish, FL, grandsons, Brett Pike of Cali, Columbia and Cory Pike of Bradenton, FL, daughter in law, Leslie Pike of Bradenton, FL, the mother of his son, Lela Pike of Bradenton, FL, a brother, Richard Pike of Bradford, VT and a sister, Hazel Hazen of The Villages, FL.

In keeping with Vernon’s wishes no services will be held locally and Inurnment will be at a later date in Florida.
