Terry Paul Green, age 71, of Rutherfordton, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City. A native of Oberlin, Ohio, he was a son of the late Cledith and Violet Halstead Green. Terry was also preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Green and a sister, Sherry Hutchinson. He spent most of his life in Marietta, Ohio until the passing of his father in 2015. Terry then moved to the mountains of North Carolina, where he and his wife had visited family who lived here for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood working. He was an extremely talented carpenter who enjoyed life with family and friends.
Surviving is his loving wife, Christine Moore Green; three daughters: Summer Shuford (Andrew) of Rock Creek, Charlene Moore (Garrett) of Elk Park, and Jessica Buchanan (Corby) also of Elk Park; a son, Rick Seevers (Robin) of Newport, Ohio; brothers: Chuck Green (Debbie) of Marietta, Ohio and Jamie Green (Heidi) of Burnsville; grandchildren: Kayli, Alaina (Tanner), Emily (Travis), Julie (Timmy), Kerry (Skyler) and Gunner; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family, all of whom he loved very much, also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13th at Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Matt Mills officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14th in the Jonas Ridge Community Cemetery.
