Work is continuing on the replacement of the Cub Creek Bridge on NC Highway 226 between Bakersville and Loafer’s Glory. The project involves replacement of the bridge, grading and drainage improvements and paving. As part of the project, the bridge and road are being relocated upstream to straighten the roadbed. Total cost for the project is $2.9 million and the completion date for the project is August, 2025.
