Mary Helms Bearfield, age 64, of Beverly Hills, Florida, formerly of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Thomas “Lewis” Helms and Joyce Cox Helms. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Leah Shoe.
Mary enjoyed picking galax and being outdoors. She was a devoted Christian woman and loved her Lord and Savior. Mary dearly loved her family and spending time with them.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Matthew Bearfield; her children: Brandy Buchanan (Arnold), Matthew Honeycutt and Michael Bearfield; grandchildren: Brandon Buchanan (Shanah), Blake Buchanan (Phoebe), Brent Buchanan (Hannah Moore), Brian Buchanan, Leah Marcial (William), Alexis Honeycutt, Hannah Honeycutt, Gabe Honeycutt and Lilly Honeycutt; great-grandchildren: Jasper, Audrey, Jordan, Emma and Nova; sisters: Joyce “Louise” Noblitt (Keith), Helen McKinney (Murrell) and Annie Woody (Jerry) and a brother, Thomas Helms Jr. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Arnold Buchanan, Rev. Brent Buchanan, Rev. Barry Jenkins and Rev. David Gillespie will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the church and at all other times at the home of her sister, Joyce “Louise”, at 129 Trinity Place, Burnsville, NC.
