Ruby Pritchard, age 90, of Elk Park, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 at Signature Health in Elizabethton, TN. A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Abe and Macie Cook Hopson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daymon Pritchard who passed away in 2014; sisters: Nancy Hopson and Buddy Hopson Thomas (Bob) and a brother-in-law, Charles Pritchard. Ruby was faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved gardening, her flowers and a collector of jewelry. She will be remembered as a loving and caring lady, always making others smile.
Surviving is her son, Keith Vance of Nashville, TN; Angie Knox (Evan) who Ruby considered family, also of Nashville, TN and siblings: Pat Hopson (Dorothy) of Elizabethton, TN, Anita Pritchard of Newland, Walt Hopson (Linda) of Roan Mountain, TN and Donna Odom (Danny) of Elk Park. Several nieces, nephews and several other extended family members also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th in the Elk Park Cemetery. Speaker Steve Stamey will officiate.
