Kicking off the Summer, Parkway Playhouse is excited to present Disney’s Aristocats, KIDS on June 21st at 6:30pm & June 22nd at 2:30pm! Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, this show will feature Parkway Playhouse Junior students who have auditioned for this production. To celebrate this exciting show, Parkway Playhouse is partnering with the Yancey County Humane Society for a kitten adoption event on June 22nd after the performance from 3-5pm at The Playhouse. All kitten adoptions are BOGO – adopt one, get one free! Enjoy the show and take home a new friend (or two)! Later this month, join Parkway Playhouse for their lineup of FREE Reading is Alive performances! Their 2024 program is Tricky, Tricky Trickster Tales, produced in partnership with Attic Salt Theatre, Penland School of Crafts, and the Avery-Mitchell-Yancey Libraries. During this FREE show, kids will make a FREE craft, and receive a FREE book! Their lineup this summer includes: Saturday, June 22nd at 9:30am at Burnsville Town Square; Saturday, June 22nd at 2pm at the Rhododendron Festival; Monday, June 24th at 1:30pm at Parkway Playhouse; Wednesday, June 26th at 11am at the Spruce Pine Library; Wednesday, June 26th at 3pm at the Avery County Library; Thursday, June 27th at 11am at the Yancey County Library (Sensory Friendly Performance); Thursday, June 27th at 3pm at the Mitchell County Library; Saturday, June 29th at 10am at Spruce Pine Pocket Park; Saturday, June 29th at 1pm at The Hive in Spruce Pine; Saturday, August 3rd at 10am at Spruce Pine Pocket Park; Saturday, August 3rd at 1pm at Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair; Monday, August 5th at 5pm at The Hive in Spruce Pine.
Showing July 19th at 6:30pm, July 20th at 6:30pm, and July 21st at 2:30pm, Parkway Playhouse is cooling down with Disney’s Frozen JR!
