This is the week of the 77th annual North Carolina Rhododendron Festival in Bakersville. Events begin on Friday with the Arts and Crafts Fair on the Creekwalk beginning at noon. The Rhododendren Pagent is Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 at Bowman Middle School. Dancing in the street begins at 8. Saturday the Mountaineer Shrine car show starts at 9 am at the Bakersville Fire Department, the 10K run and one mile walk begin at 8 am at Gouge School, the Arts and Crafts Show on the Creekwalk opens at 10 am.
