SIZZLIN’ SUMMER SERIES – Reading is Alive: Tricky, Tricky Trickster Tales

A beloved Sizzlin’ Summer Series event returns this Saturday from 9:30 am to noon on the Burnsville Town Square. Parkway Playhouse will set the stage for summer fun with another family-friendly Reading is Alive performance!

Professional actors from Parkway Playhouse and Attic Salt Theatre Company will present their FREE kid-friendly play, “Tricky, Tricky Trickster.” The play will begin at 10 am, but come early to grab a seat on the square and enjoy the energy of the Sizzlin’ Summer Series.

You can also enjoy a FREE craft activity provided by Penland School of Crafts before the show. Plus receive a FREE book for children while supplies last! The AMY Regional Library Bookmobile will also be there if you’re in need of another book to read.

A program of Partners Aligned Toward Health, Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County. Healthy Yancey developed the Sizzlin’ Summer Series to promote connections between neighbors and people, increase physical activity, and create fun ways to play and be active in our community. Sizzlin’ Summer Series activities are appropriate for ALL ages and abilities and are completely FREE!

Thank you to Parkway Playhouse for making this week’s event possible. We also appreciate the title sponsor Madison Health and Rehabilitation, as well as the Town of Burnsville, Yancey County Government, and Altec for their support and sponsorship which make the 2024 Sizzlin’ Summer Series possible.

This summer, you can also enjoy free pool days at the Burnsville Pool and the Toe River Campground Pool on June 26th, July 11th, July 22nd, and August 9th, courtesy of Healthy Yancey and Yancey County Government.
