NC Wildlife Resources Announces Fee Increase

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has announced an increase in fees for hunting, fishing, trapping, and activity licenses, as well as permits, stamps, and certifications, effective July 1. These adjustments are based on the rise in the Consumer Price Index since the last fee increase on January 1, 2020. The increased fees will help the agency manage operating costs affected by inflation and growing demand for its services.

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s funding comes from license sales, vessel titles and registrations, federal grants, general fund appropriations, and other sources. License sales contribute approximately 25% of the agency’s annual revenue on average. These funds, along with others, support programs focused on species management, habitat enhancement, enforcement, education, and public access.
