If anyone would like to come be a part of these efforts, it would certainly be a rewarding experience. The Yancey County Re-Entry Council has been working in conjunction with Freedom Life Ministries, The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, and numerous other community stakeholders to develop short and long term solutions to meeting the needs of justice involved individuals and their families. Needs identified by the council include, but are not limited to, housing, workforce, substance abuse services, mental health services, barriers to family unification, etc. A lot of the work being done by the Re-Entry Council overlaps with what the MYSATF teams have been working on, and this is a great opportunity for collaboration.
