Mitchell County Commissioners met Tuesday morning, June 25 and adopted by a 5-0 vote the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget for county government operations. The 25.3 million dollar budget is slightly smaller than the 2023-24 budget, as the prior one contained grant-funded projects that have been completed. A tax rate of 56 cents per hundred dollars valuation is established for the budget, which is unchanged from 2023-2024.
The new budget takes effect on Monday, July 1, 2024.
