Jimmy Street, age 78, of Clearview Road in Erwin, TN, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.
Born on June 11, 1946 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late John and Polly Carver Street. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wives; Joni Hicks Street and Roma Dover Street and his sister; Sherry Horney.
Jimmy graduated from Cranberry High School. He retired from Lees-McRae College following thirty-nine years of service. He was active with the Boys Scouts for twenty years and served as the Chairman of Troop 807 in Banner Elk and on the Executive Board of the Daniel Boone Council. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Linville Fishing Club and he also enjoyed camping.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn Street of the home; his son; Jason Street of Johnson City, TN; his stepdaughters; Heather Amaya and husband, Dagoberto of Unicoi, TN and Tracey Sparks of Myrtle Beach, SC; his brother; Dickie Street of Banner Elk; and special friend, Shar Saidla of Johnson City, TN.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Valley Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.
