NC Highway 226 in the area around the new Mitchell Middle School has a new speed limit. It is now 45 miles per hour all the time, not just school hours as it was in the past.
In addition to this speed limit change, construction work on new turn lanes for both the middle school and for Ledger School Road which leads to Mitchell High School is now underway, with scheduled completion before the start of school.
So slow down when you’re driving through Ledger!
