SIZZLIN’ SUMMER SERIES – Exploring Nature with 4-H and NCWRC

Fun for the whole family is in bloom this Saturday, July 13th during the Sizzlin’ Summer Series. Join Yancey County 4-H and the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission from 10 am to noon and enjoy exploring nature through interactive activities, craft projects, and more!

You can get your hands dirty while learning about plants and animals with planting seeds, exploring scat, tracks, furs and more! Plus the AMY Regional Library Bookmobile will be there so you can search for an amazing tale or two.

A program of Partners Aligned Toward Health, Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County. Healthy Yancey developed the Sizzlin’ Summer Series to promote connections between neighbors and people, increase physical activity, and create fun ways to play and be active in our community. Sizzlin’ Summer Series activities are appropriate for ALL ages and abilities and are completely FREE!

Thank you to Yancey County 4-H and the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission for making this week’s event possible. We also appreciate the title sponsor Madison Health and Rehabilitation, as well as the Town of Burnsville, Yancey County Government, and Altec for their support and sponsorship which make the 2024 Sizzlin’ Summer Series possible.

This summer, you can also enjoy the last two free pool days at the Burnsville Pool and the Toe River Campground Pool on July 22nd, and August 9th, courtesy of Healthy Yancey and Yancey County Government.
