Tommy Allen Woody, age 51, of the Spruce Pine Community, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
A native of Avery County, he was the son of Jimmy Woody of the home and the late Janice Beam.
Tommy enjoyed hiking, fishing, waterfalls, and kayaking. He was musically talented and enjoyed singing.
Surviving in addition to his father are his daughters: Monica Phillips Woody, Megan Woody, and Verity Melley; sister, Tina Woody; brother, Glenn Woody (Della); grandchildren: Aaliah, Triston, and Aspen and a half-brother, David Branch from Burke County. One niece, several nephews, as well as many cousins and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9th at New Hope Baptist Church. Pastor Larry Beam will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
