New Exhibition at Toe River Arts Owen Gallery

A new exhibition of two-and three dimensional work opens in the Owen Gallery at Toe River Arts in Spruce Pine Owen Gallery on August 3, 2024, and will run through September 7, 2024. The exhibit is titled On and Off the Wall and explores the forms, shapes, colors, mediums and concepts that have intrigued Robin throughout her career as an artist.

The show is eclectic; sometimes tongue-in-cheek; often challenging. The subjects range from environmental observations to human emotions that are created using color, form and materials.

Robin Martindale is a retired professor of art from Appalachian State University where she taught sculpture, drawing, graphic design and history of design among other things for 27 years. She has an MFA from the University of North Carolina. As a graphic designer, Robin has worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the North Caroline Zoo. Hence her interest in creatures, nature and the environment. Robin has exhibited nationally and regionally, winning several awards.

Toe River Arts is located at 69 Oak Ave, Spruce Pine. Gallery and Gift Shop hours are 10:30am – 5pm, Tues – Sat.  For information visit our website, toeriverarts.org, email info@toeriverarts.org or call 828-765-0520.
