North Carolina Arts Council Announces $11.5 Million in Grants

The North Carolina Arts Council has announced  $11.5 million in grant awards for Fiscal Year 2024–25. Three hundred sixty-six grant awards will support nonprofit arts organizations, schools, after-school programs, municipalities, and artists in all 100 counties this year. In our area that includes:

Avery

Banner Elk Elementary School Grassroots Arts Program Arts programs and administrative support $22,209

Madison

Madison County Arts Council Traditional Arts Programs for Students (TAPS) Students learning traditional arts from local heritage artists in afterschool programs. $8,000

Madison County Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program Arts programs and administrative support $24,389

Southern Appalachian Historical Association Sustaining Support Grant Arts programs and administrative support $14,000

McDowell

McDowell Arts Council Association Grassroots Arts Program Arts programs and administrative support $36,816

McDowell Arts Council Association Military and Veterans Healing Arts Artist led weekly open studio sessions and workshops for veteran community and cultural competency training for instructors $5,000

West Marion Community Forum Inc. Project Support Grant Dia de los Muertos Festival Marion $6,150

Toe River Arts Council, Inc Grassroots Arts Program Arts programs and administrative support $20,790
