Annie Lee Cooper Briggs, age 86, of the Patterson Branch Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 19th, 2024 at Mission Hospital.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Rex and Mae Peterson Cooper.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Donald Briggs; sisters: Fannie Bennett and Linnie House; granddaughter, Tanya Briggs Scott and grandson, Jamie Craig.
Annie enjoyed her dogs and cats, gardening, canning, cooking and especially spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as an amazing cook with exceptional values.
Surviving is her sons: Britt Briggs of Patterson Branch, Wallace Briggs of Patterson Branch and Bobby Briggs and wife, Betty, of South Toe; daughters: Marcella and Sandra; three sisters; three brothers; grandchildren: Emily, Brandi, Tyler, Jessie, Amber, Matthew, Dionda, Farrah and Elisha and great-grandchildren: Layla, Henry and Tucker. Several other extended family members also survive.
Private burial was held in the Horton Hill Cemetery.
